Meetings] Hello Friends; Last month Ann Corrigan introduced you to the new Planning & Development Committee. She, Jeanne Parker and I have volunteered to head this committee which is composed of some of your fellow church members and Rev. Sallie. Some of us have been around a long time; some are fairly new to UCP. All of us are committed to helping our church grow and prosper. You might say, "Don't we all want to see our church grow?" I hope so, because it will take all of us, willing to step up and participate. P&D people are here to assure that some of the wonderful ideas so abundant at UCP are translated into concrete, concentrated activities that will help us achieve whatever goal we set. We will review each proposal and present it to the Board. If you have an idea for a fundraiser or other "church building" activity, grab a "New Idea " form available at both church entrances. Notice that the form asks a number of questions about what you are willing to do and what you are willing to convince others to do. That's the key. We need everyone involved. The Planning and Development committee will do the following: First we will help you clarify all the steps involved in making the activity a success and offer suggestions based on a great deal of institutional memory. Second, we will be responsible for coordinating the events so that there are no conflicts and each event gets the focus it deserves. Finally, P&D people promise to be the cheerleaders. I know that every event that is planned; every activity that is sponsored can be a success. It will be if the whole church is involved. Come and help make it happen.
